Honestly, today was an uneventful day — and one that made me doubt a lot of things.
We woke up in Edmonton to the smoke still thick in the air. I could even smell it wafting into the hotel, and my stomach sank when I thought of how close we would be to the wildfires the next day.
Was this a good decision? Should we even continue?
We decided to stay at the hotel until noon in order to do as much work as we could before hitting the road. We only had a 5-hour drive until our next destination, and we were noticing the sun wasn’t even setting until well after we went to bed, so we weren’t worried about getting caught on the road after dusk.
We hyper-focused on our work, me packaging orders from my online shop and R taking work calls. When we were too hungry to continue, we checked out of the hotel to find a very late breakfast/lunch.
