Tram 1: A Short but Scenic Ride

Den Haag (The Hague) is like any other administrative center. It might be the third largest city in the Netherlands, but it is mostly professional in attitude rather than business as usual in approach. I would have no qualms in stating it is the least touristy of places in a country that is otherwise among the topmost of tourist destinations.

That being said, and as mentioned before, I have an emotional attachment to the place. As such, on every occasion I visit the Netherlands, I make an attempt to visit Den Haag and relive the element of nostalgia. If the attempt is successful, I hang around for a couple of hours and catch up with friends before heading back to my chosen base. It may seem a rather boring routine, but it is what it is.

However, on this occasion, I was prompted to attempt something that I had never done before. It was definitely something I was aware of, but it had gotten lost somewhere in the back of my mind.
