If you have been reading the recent posts explaining about our adventures in Finland, you will be aware as to how we stretched ourselves quite a bit to explore both Turku and Naantali. While we were happy to have decided upon visiting the country’s oldest city, what is extremely essential in the case of every traveller is the fact that every act of concerted exertion must be followed by a period of calculated relaxation.

Rest and recuperation are imperative for both the body and the mind. Besides, this can also serve as a period of introspection, to look back with fondness (or regret) at the experiences during the ongoing trip, and also reassess your priorities, and make scheduling changes accordingly. As such, once we had returned from our memorable sojourn in Turku, it was three days of complete rest in Helsinki.

Having made multiple trips to the Finnish capital before, this period of rest was basically about doing little. Instead, we opted to hang around in our favorite places in this beautiful city, and savor local cuisine. All this while, we rediscovered what had to a great extent…
