The December “Festival of Giving” Update continues to supply new in game cosmetics, as well as some lucrative discounts. Update 2.0.10, running from December 11th to the second or third Wednesday of January, brings in many new items, and this guide covers what’s been added to the Outpost Shops, Black Market, and Pirate Emporium- check out the full breakdown below!

Outpost Shops

More Ashen Dragon cosmetics have been added to the Equipment and Weapon shops and are unlocked through the Tomes of Power commendations.

All of the Ashen Dragon items can also be found on their own page in the Bilge Rat’s Black Market

Bilge Rat’s Black Market

Accessed by talking to the Bilge Rat in any Tavern, the Black Market is a place to spend Doubloons and Gold on limited time voyages, cosmetic items, and more.

Black Market Archive

From now on, every Black Market cosmetic since the introduction of the Black Market will be available permanently in the Black Market Archive. Items will no longer disappear and return at an unknown date- instead, new items will enter the Black Market at a discounted price, and then in the next update join the Black Market Archive at full price. No more last minute grinds to get every Black Market item!

What are Doubloons?

Bilge Rat Doubloons are a Black Market exclusive currency, earned by completing event challenges or selling rare loot to the tavern Bilge Rat. Here’s a collection of guides on previous events and which rewards you can still earn.

Recurring Stock

With Doubloons, you can purchase bags of regular gold, and “Letters of Recommendation” which increase Reputation one level in any of the five trading companies. For Doubloons or Gold, there are special “Stash Voyages”, which are a fast (but expensive!) way to quickly unearth a Ritual Skull (to activate the Fort of the Damned) or Ashen Chest (for Ashen Treasures rewards).

The Pirate Emporium

The Pirate Emporium contains exclusive cosmetic items, including Pets, Seasonal Items, Charity Items, Ships, and Emotes, but only accepts Ancient Coins, a premium (real world money) currency.

You can find the Emporium shop in the upper right of the front end Main Menu, on outposts in Adventure Mode above the Order of Souls booth, and at a desk in the Arena’s Sea Dogs Tavern.

Ancient Coins

Ancient Coins can be acquired in two ways:

  1. Purchased using real world currency from the Emporium menu:

2. Earned by defeating the rare “Ancient Skeleton” found in game. This skeleton has a small chance of rising from the ground in both Adventure and Arena mode, and will immediately turn and run away. After some time it will return to the Earth and you’ll have missed out- but if you manage to kill it you’ll earn a random amount of Ancient Coins (roughly 100 all the way to 600 Ancient Coins!)

Pets

The Pirate Emporium is the only place to purchase piratey animal companions, which include Monkeys (Capuchins, Barbaries, and Marmosets) and Parrots (Macaws, Parakeets, and Cockatoos), each in a variety of colors. Once you purchase a pet you can access a selection of pet outfits.

All Pets (499 AC)
Pet Outfits (249 AC)
This month brings the addition of the Kraken Pet Outfits, as well as Pirate Legend Pet Outfits. The latter can only be purchased by Pirate Legends.

Limited Time Items/Discounts (through Festival of Giving update):

Festival of Giving Pet Cosmetics

Pets are accessed from the “Pet Chest” found on the ship and outside the Emporium shop. From there you can select one pet, their outfit, and input a name for your Pet (which can be changed as many times as you want!). The pet will wander the ship and follow you to shore, sharing in your adventure like a member of your crew!

Seasonal Items

This month’s theme is — yep you guessed it — Festive based! In addition to the above mentioned Pet Outfits and Bundles, there is a Festival of Giving themed four-piece weapon set, sold individually for 249 AC each, or as a bundle at 499 AC.

Charity Items

A new tab in the emporium contains items that raise money for good causes.
