Telos Weekly Report — July 5th, 2019
You may have noticed that I’m not participating in some of the Telos community discussions as much now as I have in the past. I want to ensure everyone that I’m not any less involved with Telos than before. In fact the opposite is true: between Drakos Keep, Telos Blockchain Solutions, the Telos Core Devs, and a few other Telos-based projects, I am just swamped. All of these projects are going to be immensely positive for the Telos community, so if you don’t see as much of me, have no fear.
I am working with people on building Telos every day. I am excited about all of the new projects I see lining up to deploy on Telos. I’m sure people are getting tired of me saying this. I’ve been talking with a lot of these projects long before they make their plans public. Some of these projects have long gestations before their creators feel comfortable telling the world their plans. For example, just this week dMail announced that they will be launching on Telos right after EOS, thanks to a grant from the Telos Foundation. The DAC, SEEDS just joined the Telos Dapp Development group on Telegram to discuss their plans for deploying a really awesome community on Telos. So when I say I’m excited about all the projects I see coming to Telos, it’s real, but also a bit frustrating, because I want to share some of this great news with the Telos community who is giving life to Telos right now. Stay tuned, guys, there’s a lot of really exciting stuff coming!
It’s particularly rewarding to see the voting move forward with the TED Plan. We have over 3 weeks to go and we’re off to a good start. I’m hopeful that the work we did before making the proposal is paying off with good community support. Our next step will be figuring out how to make all the technical changes necessary to enact the TED Plan, if it passes. Implementing REX is fairly straightforward and several BPs are already working on it. However, how exactly we will disburse funds into the various accounts is something we will still need to decide. My hope is that if the TED Plan passes strongly, and we can see that it is moving that direction, that we can get ahead of it and build the functions we will need.
I had the chance to speak at Seattle Devcon this week about blockchain gaming and the Telos chain. It’s a very exciting story. Obviously, everyone knows that we are bringing Drakos Keep to Telos. Not many people, though, have seen our in-house demo app of the game. We showed it to a few people at the Amsterdam and Seattle conferences and the response was awesome. It’s the first blockchain game that plays like a mobile game (meaning it’s the first one that’s actually fun!). But our vision for blockchain games is much bigger than any one game. We will be bringing some really, really exciting developments to blockchain gaming. Probably far bigger than anyone suspects. It’ll bring a lot of new users to Telos. Frankly, I can’t imagine many Telos genesis accounts actually going unclaimed after Drakos Keep is released.

Telos Foundation Choses First Grant Recipient
With the end of the first cycle in the Telos Foundation Grant Program, Telos will now be joining EOS as one of the first chains to have Dmail. Dmail is a privacy focused email platform planning to deploy on Telos within the next couple of months. The grant will be used to launch and host Dmail on the Telos blockchain, as well as onboarding and marketing to new users.

Episode one of The Telos Podcast by HappyMoneyMan released
After much anticipation from the Telos community, HappyMoneyMan has released the first episode of the WPS-backed Telos Podcast early this week. The first ever Telos Podcast episode featured Roger Davies and Jim Hewitt from TelosUK, and they covered many topics, including the TED Plan, the Worker Proposal system, ACORNs and blockchain education, and some differences between Telos and EOS, among several other topics. We’re looking forward to seeing more content from the new Telos Podcast. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch the video here:
New Game, Telos Heroes Discovered at https://telosheroes.com/
I came across a new game that looks like it will be deploying on Telos soon called Telos Heroes. I don’t know anything about it yet or who is behind the game but it looks like it may be a Telos version of EOS Heroes. Let’s hope we hear more about this soon.
Douglas interviews with Crypto Unqualified at the Seattle Devcon Blockchain Expo
While I was at Seattle Devcon last week I had a chance to sit down with the guys from the Crypto Unqualified podcast. They have been really positive about Telos on their podcast, so I was happy to get to appear on their show. We rambled on about everything from Telos governance to Drakos Keep — they even talked me into letting them film a little sneak peek at the current version of the game.
