Five-minute Fridays!
A weekly writing challenge
Objective:
Encourage writers to create concise, engaging 300–500 word stories based on provided prompts.
Frequency:
Weekly Submission Deadline: Thursdays, 9:00 PM EST
Eligibility:
Open to all writers Publication Platform: Growl Publication.
Submission Guidelines:
Writers must follow Growl Publication’s standard submission guidelines to become a part of the publication’s regular contributors.
Prompt Announcement:
Prompts for each week will be announced one week in advance, giving writers ample time to craft their stories. You can find the prompt on The Growl Publication home page.
Story Length:
Stories will be between 300 & 500 words approximately. (we are really looking for about a 5-minute read)
Selection Process:
Accepted stories will be scheduled for publication on Friday at 1:00 PM EST
Publication Deadline:
The deadline is for midnight on Thursdays to be published on Fridays.
Community Engagement:
Readers are encouraged to engage with the stories by clapping, sharing, highlighting and leaving comments. Please be sure to remind your readers to do so.
Recognition:
Writers whose stories are published will receive credit and exposure on Growl Publication. We will be selecting 1 finalist every week to compete against the other finalists of the month for the grand prize!
Monthly Winners:
Winners will be announced once a month, with prizes for the top three finalists:
1st Place: $20 Amazon Gift Card and a featured spot on the Growl Publication page.
2nd Place: $10 Amazon Gift Card and a featured spot on the Growl Publication page.
3rd Place: A featured spot on the Growl Publication page.
Encouraging New Contributors:
The challenge is open to both new and established writers, providing an opportunity for aspiring authors to join Growl Publication’s community.

Prompts will cover a wide range of themes and genres to inspire creativity, adult themes and a lot of smut!
