Hi there,
Here is your weekly For Value Sake, contributing value to your growth.

A Quote Worth Thinking About

“You can’t be it if you can’t see it”.

+ Read past editions of For Value Sake: 29, 28, and All,

1. HOW TO FIND THE ONE

+IT’S NOT ABOUT “FINDING” — IT’S ABOUT *MAKING*

+ Someone who is a great partner has much higher odds of success than someone mediocre who instead focuses on “having” one.

+ Love is a choice, not an emotion. Love is an action, not a feeling. Love is deliberate, not passive. Love is not something that happens “to you;” love is something you do.

+ And love — good love — it is work. It is something you choose, and something you put effort into, each and every day.

+ GREAT NEWS! YOU CAN STILL HAVE “THE ONE”
But it’s what you create and commit to, not “find.”

I know you know that the one is BS. But in-case you have forgotten lemme let Kris remind you.
A very refreshing read.
Of course, it’s not a new idea, but Kris has a way for telling the right story and lacing it with punch lines that get you right in the gut.

2. MAKE SMARTER DECISIONS

+ Mental models are relevant and quickly available information that we bring to a problem that makes us seem like an expert. When we don’t have the right models, we pay a heavy price.

+ How many decisions did you make today? How did you make these decisions? Is there a better way?

This is a deeply critical piece. Of course the articles on Farnam Street are mostly content designed for the intellectually initiated. Strong meat and bone for men who have had their mental senses exercised.

When you are managing millions or even billions of dollars in investment, you certainly have to learn how to make smart decisions.

But even in our normal lives, the decision of where to work, who to marry, etc still requires robust mental models.

There is a place for prayer and there is a place of having your senses exercised.

3. 10 STEPS TO BECOME A MILLIONAIRE IN 5 YEARS (OR LESS)

+ Einstein said that imagination is more important than knowledge. Arden said creativity is more important than experience.

+ “Short-term goals can be useful developmental tools if they are balanced within a nurturing long-term philosophy. Too much sheltering from results can be stunting.”

+ Who do you want to be?
-Imagine that self.
-Feel that self.
-Assume the feeling of your wish fulfilled.
-Affirm the reality of that self.
-Know that what you want you can have.
-Commit big.
-Invest yourself in that reality.
-Begin, right now, acting consistent with that reality.
-Enjoy the rush of flow that comes from being present and congruent.

5. WHAT I’M READING

+ Guided By The Spirit, by Pastor Bankie.

How to know the will of God and be led by His Spirit.

+ “Sometimes we speak of the ‘inner witness’ as if it is a spectacular supernatural manifestation we are to learn to recognize, but it is nothing of such.
An inner witness is a personal conviction that we all may have about different things.
It is derived from learning and experience….”

Pastor Bankie is demystifying God told me o, or I am waiting to hear from God.
