The Golden Globes

Kellé Whitney: Nominations for the 2019 Golden Globes are out! Of course Black Panther was nominated, but the list of contenders for best motion picture are incredibly diverse. I’m looking at you Crazy Rich Asians, If Beale Street Could Talk, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

George H.W. Bush

Kellé Whitney: On Wednesday, former President George H.W. Bush was laid to rest after passing away last Friday. Many commentators and critics discussed Bush senior’s complex legacy, particularly on his work with the CIA and his role in the war on drugs.

Cardi luvs Offset

Meliabia: Did Cardi and Offset break it off??? Cardi posted a video early this week stating they don’t know when they will get a divorce but they are done. Real? Or publicity stunt?…

Two Day Shipping

Delmarshae Walker: I love my Prime membership with Amazon, and I’d be very disappointed if anything got in the way of my express two day shipping. Word on the street is, Amazon is going to be hit by a new US postal plan, which can impact things like; higher shipping prices.

Disney and Google

Kellé Whitney: Did you hear? The Walt Disney Co. is moving all of its digital brands and properties to Google’s advertising platform. That’s in Disney’s WORLDWIDE digital brands and properties.

Justin Timberlake

Delmarshae Walker: Let’s keep Justin in our prayers as he recovers from “bruised vocal cords.” Sorry guys, all remaining concerts in December have been pushed back.

Lyft IPO

Rikkie: I know what I am asking Santa to give me for Christmas…extra money for Lyft stock. This week Lyft submitted confidential paperwork with the SEC related their initial public offering. If Lyft goes public it would be the first ride share app to do so…sorry Uber. Lyft was last valued at $15 billion, could go public as early as the first quarter of 2019.

The Great Alone

Meliabia: This is a book about a family that moves to rural Alaska! Catchy right ? They battle bears, 22 hrs of darkness, and most importantly their alcoholic father. Read this book to for a triumphant coming of age story that shows love, hurt, and strength. Also it will be made into a movie so keep an eye out for that!

Meeeeek Mil!

Monet Victoria: I’ve been listening to this album nonstop! I was instantly sucked in during the intro. Meek has bars and he has some great messages on this album paired with some epic samples. This album is definitely a contender for my favorite album of the year.

thank u, next

Rikkiej: Ariana Grande recently released a video for her single thank u, next. This video pays homage to all or Ariana’s favorite movies such as Legally Blonde and Mean Girls. The song is an anthem for any woman who has been “in love” and found “the one” more than once. Ultimately, Ariana makes a statement about learning from past relationships and learning to love yourself. Need something to dance to while you get ready in the morning? This is it!

Whew Chilayyyy

Monet Victoria: I think we’ve all experienced that moment when a coworker or friend was trying to be hip and missed the mark. I’m never saying whew chile any more it is officially whew chillay!

Santacon!!!

Monet Victoria: This weekend is Santacon in NYC. It’s like halloween but for all things Christmas. This is honestly one of the few things I look forward too during the holiday. It’s fun and a time to be creative with your outfit. Catch me on Instagram as I celebrate.

No Carbs

Delmarshae Walker: Everything but carbs! Trying out these keto friendly comfort foods this weekend.

Basil Chicken in Coconut Curry Sauce

Kellé Whitney: This right here is one of my cold weather favorites! All you need is a slow cooker (aka crock pot). This meal can be ready in 4 hours or 8 depending on how you want to plan out your day.
