This is the fifth installment of the Mission 72 series, capturing stories from campus the first week of school.

As a church, one of our core values is fun-loving. That’s why it made sense for us to have a house party on a weeknight before classes start.

That’s right, we had live performances, a DJ, slip n’ slide, pizza, Red Bull, and a pool. This is how we do fun-loving.

Read below to hear about the impact our fun-loving culture is having on students.

“Since I first met a girl during move-in, I’ve seen her almost every day and she’s come to hang with us at every event she can make. At the house party, she mentioned how she’s loved meeting new people and making new friends every time she comes to hang out, saying, ‘It’s really cool that there are this many people having this much fun and no one is drinking.’” — Bailee

“One student said to me, ‘Thank you so much for inviting me, this has been the coolest thing I’ve been to. There’s no doubt I’m going to come on Survivor,’ and then he registered this morning.” — Alex

“My friend Stephanie and I met two girls who were so excited about our event Survivor Weekend, that they came to the house party with us just two hours later. At the house party, one girl told me that we were the nicest people she’s met at college so far.” — Shelby
