We are two weeks in and we have learned a lot about our league that will mean absolutely nothing twelve weeks from now when playoffs commence. Let’s explore:

  1. Six teams drafted Le’Veon Bell WAAAAY too early. I won’t point any of them out (Tyler Finnigan) as to not embarrass them (Tyler Finnigan). And why will this not be relevant in twelve weeks? Well for any of these six that managed to draft a good team to make the playoffs, they will have Bell there to showcase his talents for the 32 teams that could likely provide him his big payday (or his third franchise tag).
Le’Veon just hangin out in all his spare time.

2) We have had our score this year (and possibly ever, but I am too lazy to go check our history) above the 200 mark. Let me go find out who posted such an amazing score…

Hmmm. I know it was someone in our league.

Wait, it can’t be…

It’s your reigning champion!

I am sure the last thing you want to hear is that I didn’t even start my optimum lineup that would have given me another six points or that I could have swapped several guys in and out and still been in the 190s.

Do you want to know the secret? Fine, I will tell you. I am imploring a brand new strategy called PEAK WAY TOO EARLY! So I figure, that I got another two weeks of bragging before the wheels fall off.

3) There are only 14 teams left undefeated. But you know what, half those teams are posers and won’t make the playoffs. Some teams are 2–0 solely because of their opponents crapped the bed. Case in point, Rob Finnigan in league C has scored 239.5 points. Thats an average under 120 points both weeks. But he knows. His team is aptly named “Team Incredibly Bad”. To that point…

4) There were six teams that failed to top 100 points this week. Crazy enough, two of those teams WON THIS WEEK! Thats right, four of those six teams happened to play each other. What are the odds? Well without looking it up, I am going to say:

Playoff Format

Just a reminder, here is our playoff format:

Conference Championships — Each conference will have its own set of playoffs where the top six teams battle against each other to crown its Conference winner. These playoffs will be typical playoff format.

  • They will take place during weeks 14–16 of the NFL
  • Week 14 will be the 3rd seed v. 6th seed and 4th v. 5th. Division winners will receive a bye.
  • Week 15, the winners of those games in week 14 will play the 1st and 2nd seeds.
  • Week 16, the winners from week 15 battle to crown a winner of the conference. Bragging rights included (and a small trophy)!
  • To check out the playoff bracket (or projected right now), go to the Standings tab and you will see where to click:

HOPE MEGA LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS — During week 14–16, we will have a battle of epic proportions that will crown ONE victor. Here is how it will go down:

  • The teams that advance to the conference championship will also advance to the Mega Playoffs. 36 total teams will enter.
  • During week 14, the 3–6 seeds will face off in an all play. This won’t be head-to-head but total points in your starting lineup will be key. 24 teams total will enter, the top 10 scoring teams will advance to the next round. NOTE: The 1–2 seeds will all have byes this week.
  • During week 15, the 10 advancing will meet the 12 teams on a bye (the top 2 seeds, which are the division winners of all conferences). 22 teams will enter this round, and the top 8 scoring teams will advance to the final round.
  • During week 16, the final 8 teams will face off in one final all play. The top scoring team will be the Hope Mega League Champion.

Yes there is a great possibility that multiple teams in each round have similar rosters/players. We will keep an eye on free agency in each league to make sure no one is dropping players for someone in their division to pickup for the playoffs. We will lock rosters if necessary.
