Welcome to our second Horizon State Community update. We continue to be exceptionally busy and there’s been so much going on that we decided it was time for another update.

First up was the big news that Oren Alazraki, pictured above, has been appointed as our first chief executive officer. Oren is passionate about building teams, new businesses and large-scale, complex IT systems and solutions. He brings over 20 years’ experience to the role, spanning several executive and leadership positions within the IT sector. Oren will be leading Horizon State through its next period of growth, continuing our strong focus on commercialising product offerings, developing key partnerships and securing large implementations with customers. Even though some in the press have previously bestowed Jamie Skella with the title ‘CEO’, he has always described himself as co-founder and chief product officer. Oren’s addition to our leadership team means that both Jamie and Nimo Naamani, chief technology officer, will be able to spend more time playing to their respective strengths.

Oren hit the ground running, heading to Singapore with Nimo and Jason Fleurant, community manager, to negotiate a new strategic partnership which will empower millions in Indonesia. This is the first of several strategic partnerships we are forming in order to provide digital services through our platform to the people of Indonesia. Stay tuned to our social media channels for more exciting news to come.

In an ongoing effort to be transparent with our community, we recently gave our community an update on our planned listing on a large exchange. In short, the listing is proving to be a much longer and more difficult process than expected, and we have now started efforts to list on other exchanges in addition to our planned listing. While the new Indonesian partnership was being secured, our growing DevOps team was hard at work delivering for another client.

While not the first customer delivery for Horizon State, this is the first developed by our newly expanded team, and the first built on the foundations of the platform we are developing which will underpin our future deliveries. It has proven an excellent opportunity to test our process, people and architecture, and the result has been extremely positive, with the team coming together to deliver a solid solution, on time and to a happy customer. The team are already head down building the second phase of the RemTECH delivery, due at the end of next week.

The RemTECH Awards 2018 will recognise ground-breaking products, services, research, and projects in international payments. Part of the awards voting process will run on Horizon State technology and be powered by HST! Jamie Skella will be in attendance as the winners are recognised at the World Bank Group, IFAD, and Central Bank of Malaysia hosted Global Forum on Remittances, Investment and Development (GFRID) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 8th. Further detail can be found in RemTECH’s announcement https://paymentweek.com/2018-2-27-united-nations-hosts-awards-to-discover-international-money-transfer-innovations/

More international recognition with Jamie selected as one of 25 influential individuals invited to join the BMW Foundation Global Table in Norway this June, representing Horizon State. He will be seated beside 24 leaders from EU national parliaments, multinational corporations, and international organisations. Together we’ll be working to strengthen democratic processes, improve community dialogue, and shrink the gap between government and citizen. Nimo will be giving the keynote speech at the “Blockchain Worldwide” event in Barcelona on the evening of 10th May 2018. Nimo will talk about how Horizon State is changing the world by providing democracy as a blockchain platform. The audience will consist of investors, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and students/young professionals that are active in the local crypto & blockchain ecosystem. This will be a free event and we will advise our community of further details when we have them.

Lastly, you can find out public roadmap at https://trello.com/b/K8MIJCeM/horizon-state-public-roadmap and our technical roadmap at https://trello.com/b/khWYJNwX/horizon-state-technical-roadmap. We are using these roadmaps to communicate the future of our product lines, features, function, and technical implementations. Due to the continual evolution of customer opportunities, and critical information revealed via user feedback loops, it makes most sense for us to iterate upon live roadmaps such as these as opposed to less frequently updating a static roadmap in our white paper. These roadmaps have been revised since their publication a few weeks ago and will change further as we develop and evolve our directions.

We’ll soon be back with our next community update. In the meantime, join our community conversations on Telegram https://t.me/horizonstate or Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/HorizonState/
