Note from the editor

According to an article in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, one reason people post on Social Media is that Social Media sharing can tie to positive social media feedback and self-esteem. More precisely, the quest for likes or follows on social media heavily influences why people post. The use of the Social Media Platforms for political purposes has grown dramatically over the last decade where we have seen governments and political parties in various countries focusing in increasing attention on the potential of online communication to address any deficits and revitalise democracy. In fulfilment of the Study Unit MCS3953 Social Media and 21st Century Communication (University of Malta) on this Blog we will see and discuss How Social Media affects Political Elections.
