“Ink slinger, There’s no place for the likes of you here” I hear the words before he sits down with his beer.
Oh how I know, I don’t quite fit in
A mortal with words and a simple pen.

Coffee, a laptop, a notebook
Sitting inside a shop with a puzzled look.
A desire to make a change, I sit all day and words I arrange.

A wizard of sorts, an ink slinger by trade.
This is my gift and my curse.
It’s how I was made.

A superpower to some
although I digress,
More often than not, I make a big mess.

I’m a writer, a creative, an author by trade
A superhero to some
By my words, I am made.

I ride off in the sunset
I shoot him a look.
Don’t bother me, boy, I’m writing a book.

What is your superpower?
It’s your turn. I challenge you, unmask yourself.
