Today, we are only 2 months before the release of V2, iExec’s full Market Network. The team spent the weekend in a far away mountain village to brainstorm this launch and define the next steps in terms of adoption, strategy, new features deployment and marketing efforts.

What Is iExec Working On?

Take a look at the content creator Felix O. Hartmann interviewing iExec’s Chief of Innovation, Jean-Charles Cabelguen, who covers topics such as our team’s strong technical background and origin, how the project differs from competition and iExec’s ‘agnostic’ approach to decentralize cloud computing.

Ski Seminar: Brainstorming Pre- and Post-V2

Last week, the whole team participated in a work seminar in Megève, France, a ski resort at only 200 kilometers from Lyon. It was a perfect opportunity to have both great team-building sessions and intense brainstorming sessions on the product we’re about to release.

Proof-of-Snow / Proof-of-Pain

We had two work sessions in Megève. On Thursday, each team member made a presentation on what was achieved and the tasks ahead to build the best product and make the upcoming V2 release a success. It’s very important to understand how other people in the team are working and we usually just don’t have the time to share this in such details when we’re all focused on our own work in the office.

On Friday we had what we called a ‘brunchstorming’. The goal was to make sure everyone shared the same vision regarding specific issues and details of the marketplace. The product is so novel and cutting-edge that we absolutely need to be aware of each others’ pain points and difficulties.

Of course, we also took some time to relax and have fun: no vacations are planned for any member of the team until V2 is released, so this break was particularly appreciated. Skiing is a great way to go beyond your limits, both physically and mentally. Everyone in the team had the chance to experience this challenge during the weekend, along with a paintball session.

Proof-of-Work

Now we’re all set up, and the team is ready for the last mile until the marketplace release.

iExec Sponsoring BlockShow Europe 2018

iExec is proud to be a sponsor of the next BlockShow Europe, which is powered by our media partner Cointelegraph. The event will take place in Berlin, 28–29 of May, and will be dedicated to discovering the hottest innovations, trends and sensations currently happening in the blockchain scene.

It is expected that BlockShow Europe 2018 will be visited by more than 3,000 attendees. Over 150 companies from all over the world will exhibit their projects, and 120+ organizations and companies will provide their support for the event. That’s twice the size of the recent BlockShow Asia 2017, which iExec has also sponsored last year.

iExec will have a booth at the event, along with a keynote speech and a panel participation. This will be the occasion to reveal V2 to the general public.

Blair Mclennan Joins iExec as a CM/Marketer

Blair has joined the iExec team after graduating from Edinburgh University in the UK, specialising in Marketing for Technology and Digital Media.

Blair first became interested in bitcoin in 2016 and later discovered the work Vitalik Buterin was doing at Ethereum and realised the wider potential of blockchain.

Having worked on various technology marketing projects at Hocshule der Medien in Germany while gaining client-facing experience in technical support, Blair is excited to help nurture the iExec community.

Blair will work alongside Wassim Bendella to manage social network channels and aid with content creation while keeping the community up to date every step of the way, as our marketing communications are ramped up for the release of iExec’s V2: the marketplace for cloud resources.

iExec Makes the Front Page!

The long running French newspaper Le Progrès has featured iExec in an article covering local blockchain innovators. It’s great to have iExec’s vision reaching a general reader base with 200,000 copies sold daily.

French speakers can go through our main media mentions in the following blog post that gathers them all.

By the way, we’re still hiring:

That’s it for this week’s Project Update, see you soon!
