To support our desire, to live in a more peaceful world, and cultivate harmonious, loving relationships with people different from us — here is a simple loving-kindness meditation.

I offer the short meditation to remind us to stay hopeful, generous and positive — even in the middle of global divide, a pandemic, and social and racial injustices at home and overseas.

In her story, What is Loving-Kindness -and how to practice it in an era of intolerance, Mindfulness teacher, Sharon Salzberg gives a detailed overview of the power of Loving-kindness meditation.

Let’s start.

First, I invite you to take a moment, to press pause, settle into your body and exhale.

When you feel ready, say the loving-kindness meditation script softly to yourself.

Allow the words to enter your heart space.

Be intentional with your thoughts. Use the practice to re-affirm your commitment to being a beacon of hope, encouragement and inspiration to yourself and others.
