JIGSAW GENS
Concentrics — A Legacy of Vigilance & Desperation
The Concentrics (“Mayflorists” or “Firecrackers”) shifted into feral mindsets to prioritize survival of their communities
Every generation is diverse and complex, despite the common historical markers shared by its cohort. We’d all be wise to keep this in mind whenever we’re inclined to bash somebody’s perspective just because they happen to be older or younger than us. That reality is at the core of why I’m invested in “Jigsaw Gens” — my anthological project that combines American history and sociology to track how these generations have evolved over time.
To launch this series, I’d profiled the eight American generations who’ve contributed most directly to the Twentieth and Twenty-First Centuries…
Hemingrebels | GI-Gens | Traditionalists | Baby Boomers
GenXers | Millennials | Zoomers | Alphas
Then, I began to look at similarly-aged clusters of Americans who’ve predated our modern era. To date, I’ve sketched out seventeen pre-Reconstruction generations responsible for collaboratively building the United States:
Missionaries | Stowegressives | Golden Renegades | Redeemers
