Distraction is something which blocks you from doing the intended activity. It can be anything social media, people, emails, phone call.

Why distraction is happening amid of work? This single answer can put a full stop to your lifetime of frets. The main cause turned out to be lack of concentration. Some of us are having very good concentration power, although some have less. It’s OK, people are always different and everyone is blessed with different abilities. No one is ever blessed with all capabilities. So, it’s OK, to have flaws.

Are you a person who can’t concentrate better? Never mind, try to improve your skill.

Here I’m going to help you with 8 practical tips to stay focused. These aren’t lies, it’s facts.

Try to stay focused, until it’s done.

1. Turn off notifications.

This is most relevant in a modern era. I bet that more than half number of world population have access to social media. But, I’m not stating that social media is an evil,it can be in some aspects. It could be a major distraction.

If you’re doing some work, turn off notifications which unnecessarily attracts your attention. Say no to that, while you work. Try to pick some time in the morning or in the evening for checking the emails and so on.

Why to waste time by commenting and liking posts, when other’s are making money with your time.

Social media is a channel to make you socialize with the world not with you.

2. Say no to multitasking.

I’m not arguing with the fact that “humans can do multitasking”. But i fear about it’s perfection.

To complete work perfectly you need full concentration and attention. So that you can make things productive.

In fact, MIT neuroscientist Earl Miller has stated that multitasking ruins productivity, causes mistakes and impedes creative thoughts.

So, stop ‘multitasking' practice single tasking, it helps you to get things done fast with more perfection and correctness.

3. Get enough sleep

Everyone should sleep for 8–9 hours.

We should get enough sleep in order to increase energy, concentration and focus. If don’t, we’ll feel drowsy throughout the day and can’t be able to do our daily needs.

Sleep is nothing but food for brain.

4. Stop procrastinating.

Procrastination is Same as a thief, without your permission it steals time.

If our minds are glued to certain activities, it’s hard to pluck off. So, try to figure out the activities you wanted to finish off before desk, one by one.

5. Recognize yourself.

You must do a daily analysis to recognize your wish. What you actually want to do and what you don’t.

Work according to your wishes, not to fulfill other’s heart’s.

The time when you workout things in your way, mind will be focused and can do in a better and faster way, Cause, you are interested. I’m reminding you, things won’t be smoother, if you’re working to fulfill other’s wishes. It’s a matter of concentration.

So double check. Make sure that you’re doing things in a right way.

6. Time management

Time management is an important aspect. To get focused don’t do everything in a single stock of time. Divide it into parts; so, you can complete it faster.

Otherwise plan a specific time for each work. For instance, ‘I need to finish writing this story before 4:00pm’ .

Set time limits, practice it, one day you’ll be master of time because, practice makes man perfect.

7. Learn to say no.

There are many circumstances we need to say ‘SORRY' likewise you must say No to certain situations.

To stay focused acquire the ability to say no stuffs which distracts you, it can be friends, weekend outings and movies, social media, movies, sleep, birthday parties, graduation parties, driving.

No more thoughts, learn to say NO to distractions.

8.Set deadlines

It’s a splendid idea.

Have you ever thought what’s the need of deadlines? Simply it’s a reminder to reminder you that time is going to be up, finish it fast.

Don’t sleep like dead, Focus deeply.
