Dear Writers and Readers,
I write this interview story from my secondary account. For those who don’t know me yet, my main account is Dr Mehmet Yildiz, with more followers. However, recently, my main account was cloned multiple times by scammers selling fake Writing Club services using my name. My account turned out to be bait for their service. New readers getting many spam messages from them thought they came from me, and some unfollowed me accidentally. This situation adversely affected my main profile, and now my stories are no longer properly distributed. So, until it gets fixed, I will post interviews from this account, hoping they might reach a broader audience.
I recently wrote several stories about my concerns related to growing scams caused by fake accounts on Medium. You may check this satire for digital scammers and this one for the neglect of Medium to understand how bad the situation is. With due respect, unfortunately, Medium is not acting quickly, and their neglect causes readers to be scammed and writers to go into the distribution jail unfairly. I hope Medium fixes this issue before it gets too late for the reputation of the platform.
