Writing content involves more than just putting words on paper.
In my previous write-up, I discussed what are the steps to write good content and the process to promote building a good website. This article is a continuation of my previous edition on content writing. Content writing involves writing on a specific subject matter, with the aim of providing valuable information to readers.
Identifying the subject is the major attribute of content writing.
. Writing good content requires a lot of research, and it involves a lot of backend work. The first step is to define the type of content we want to create, including the genre or niche area. This helps us to formulate our research work appropriately. For instance, if we are writing about health and lifestyle, we need to read about the latest trends in the field, the diets people are following, the lifestyle changes people are making, and so on. Our research work should be focused on the subject matter to ensure that we produce quality content.
. One important aspect of writing content is how well it resonates with the readers, particularly if it covers a popular topic. I recently wrote an article about Indian culture, but it did not receive as many clicks as I had hoped.
.In my previous edition of content writing, I mentioned that writing alone is not enough; promoting the content is equally important. The next step is to explore various marketing channels that can be used to promote the content. These channels may include blogging, social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, video-sharing site YouTube, email campaigns, and subscription packages. All of these platforms are effective in promoting content and increasing its reach.
Types of contents
There are three types of content: written, visual, and audio/video. Written content should be formatted, readable, and consistent for readers.
Written content
It refers to any text that is published on a platform such as a website or social media, including blog posts and articles for organizations.
Stick to the topic within the same genre to ensure search engine crawlers accurately index your written content and give your content a good ranking.
Word count is an argumentative topic in my experience, I think what is important is if I have written the content well irrespective of the word limit.
E-book
E-books are a type of written content that can be compared to a blog post. They are a great way to implement a productive content marketing strategy. This is due to the fact that e-books are easily accessible online and have a large readership.
Visual content
It involves expressing ideas through catchy headlines, pictures, and posters. Compared to written content, visual content is more attractive and can help promote your website. This, in turn, can increase the chances of traffic to your website and the number of visitors who read your content. Visuals can include both text and images, making it easy to attract the attention of those who prefer to read as well as those who prefer to view pictures.
When it comes to visual content, there are a variety of options to choose from, including images, posters, graphics, and infographics. To ensure that your visuals are effective, it’s important to keep a few things in mind.
. First, be sure to provide proper attribution if you are using an image from another source.
. Additionally, make sure to include a clear and concise description of the image.
. Finally, make sure that the content of the image is relevant and engaging to your target audience. By following these guidelines, you can create visual content that effectively communicates your message and engages your audience.
Audio and video content
This platform requires skills, patience, and software for effective content marketing. However, with proper execution, reaching the audience is achievable.
