Native Mobile Apps and Fiat Integration Built on Ink Protocol Coming Soon!
Here’s a sneak peek at our new mobile marketplace apps that will be available for iOS and Android devices.
Hi everyone! Since our recent Ink Pay Checkouts launch, we have been laser focused on trying to answer the question - “Why is blockchain adoption is so weak, despite all the amazing dApps and projects out there?”
Our first step was to introduce Crypto Collectibles into the existing Listia marketplace. Listia is a regular app, not a dApp, so it is much easier to use for the general public. The addition of crypto into an app that anyone can use without the need for a special browser or plugin has given us a lot of insight into user behaviors. Specifically, people love what crypto and blockchain technology bring to the table, but the user interfaces for these blockchain apps and dApps need to be MUCH better.
Up Next: Native Mobile Apps built on Ink Protocol
Our amazing product and dev teams are now working on the next iteration of Ink Pay, which will be a fully standalone mobile app that is available on iOS and Android devices. You can even use it on your preferred mobile or desktop web browser. No special plugins or wallets required. Sure, the app architecture is a bit more centralized as a result, but all of your reputation, transaction history, and feedback will still be fully decentralized and stored on the Ethereum blockchain.
Here’s a sneak peek at one of our mockups. The final product will look much better, but as you can see, this will be designed with the regular consumer in mind. Anyone should be able to install the app and start buying and selling in any marketplace securely and easily.
Bonus: Fiat Integration
We also have a bonus feature coming sooner than expected. We are working with a number of companies to make sure the next generation of Ink Protocol-based apps will be able to support real money payments. This is happening ahead of schedule because we now believe it will absolutely be the key driver of real blockchain adoption. In our case, every transaction is of course fully backed by Ink Protocol, but on the surface, users will be able to buy and sell in a way that is comfortable to them. Forcing all users to use cryptocurrency just isn’t a viable solution… yet :)
We expect to have more specific app features and updates in the coming weeks and you can expect the native apps and fiat integration out in the first quarter of 2019! For now, please enjoy the holidays and new year. Our team is extremely excited and will be hard at work building for the future of blockchain adoption.
