So we’ve covered how to create an original design and what to do after you launch your campaign, but some may be wondering, how do you actually launch a campaign? Using Ink to the People’s hassle-free platform you can create a campaign for yourself or an organization that you wish to raise funds for!

The Design Tool

Using our design tool you can create an impactful design for your campaign. There are several ways you can go about doing this. You can upload your own design, use our templates, create your own design using our clip art, or you can fill out our design form to contact one of our in-house illustrators to create a design for you!

If you’re uploading your own design, you have to make sure you’ve done a couple of things so your design is printed looking the best it can. First, you want to make sure that your image is a transparent png. A transparent png is your image without a background, so just the design that you want to print will be on the tee. For example, if your design has a black background you didn’t want to include, it will print a black square behind your design. This is why you must make sure your design doesn’t have an unwanted background! Next, if you want your image to be clear, you’ll want to make sure it's at 300 DPI. DPI stands for dots per inch and is what print resolution is measured by. It is considered high resolution.

Example of a transparent PNG

How can you tell what DPI your image is?

On a Mac

  • Right-click (or control-click) on an image.
  • Select “Get Info.”
  • Under the “More info” tab, look for Dimensions.
  • You should see a number like “1024 x 768” (some number x some number). These numbers show the number of pixels in the image (width x height)

On a PC

  • Right-click on the image icon.
  • Select “Properties.”
  • Click the “Summary” tab in the properties window.
  • You’ll see values for the Width, Height, Horizontal Resolution, and Vertical Resolution.

Once you get the resolution of the image, divide the numbers by 300 and that’s how big you can make your print before it gets blurry.

How large your print is can also affect how it looks. Looking at examples of other tee designs can help you figure out a nice size for your design. If it’s too big it might cut off or look odd, while if it’s too small it might be hard for people to see from a distance if your design has many details.

If you don’t have your own design to upload that’s perfectly fine! Our design tool is equipped with templates and clip art for you to create your own design right on the site! When you choose a template you can feel free to edit everything about it; as far as placement and color to adding or deleting objects/text! To find a template we have organized them into categories for easier access. Let’s say you don’t want to use a template and you want to create something yourself; then you can use our clipart! Use the drop-down menus to find the clipart you’re looking for and have fun creating your own tee!

Select your Products

Now that you’ve uploaded/created your design you’ll want to pick which products you want it to go on. Some of the most popular garments that are used are Bella + Canvas unisex tees, Gildan tees, and tote bags. If you can’t think of what you want to use, you can start with one of those three! Bella + Canvas shirts will be softer than Gildan, but also slimmer fitting.

You should also think about the colors of your design. You don’t want to put the black font on a black tee! Lighter colors should go on dark-colored garments and darker colors on lighter-colored garments.

While you’re choosing your garments keep in mind that you should pick similar styles in both premium and basic so that your supporters have that option.

Make sure to tell your Story

After you’ve uploaded your design and picked your products, every shirt tells a story. Make sure you tell your story in detail. Having a story written out helps people connect to your cause and want to support it more. You can also include pictures for an even greater impact. Who is going to support your campaign if they don’t know what it’s for?

Spread the Word

You’re ready to launch your campaign! Once your campaign is launched it’s time to spread the word about it!! For more information on how to do this check out our blog So You’ve Launched your Campaign, Now What?
