West Block & East Chain

The Interlinked team started the Berlin Blockchain Week at the Soho House on September 5, 2018. Bringing eastern and western ecosystems of the world together, the event was aimed to further collaborations between different regions of the globe where you meet and get inspired by the growing global community. The Interlinked Protocol team received admirable insights and welcomed motivating feedbacks onto the upcoming protocol from the crypto community. This well-organized event inspired a friendly atmosphere thanks to the awesome view of Alexanderplatz.

Startupnight

Next up was the ‘Startupnight’ event which brought up-and-coming crypto minds together. On September 7 in Berlin, startups from various industries featured their projects and got acquainted with the blockchain environment. More than 200 startups from four continents came together to form the perfect opportunity for discussions surrounding the technologies driving the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The event also included pitch sessions, workshops, after parties and much more!

This year Japan was the partnering country and the focus was more on the Fourth Industrial Revolution: AI, autonomous systems and humanoid robots. While gathering many experts in one place, this was the moment of action for the Interlinked team as well. Georg Jürgens delivered a sneak peek of the Interlinked Protocol on the ‘Startupnight,’ filled with young and creative developers, startups and enthusiasts who were intrigued by the new-born Interlinked Protocol.

Thanks to the supportive feedback, we were fully prepared for the big day at Token Wirtschaft!

Token Wirtschaft

An amazing experience for us was the first ever Token Wirtschaft event. Organized by Token Foundry, Linum Labs and Energy Web, it was a wonderful opportunity to be a part of it. The event included lively discussions and engaging workshop sessions on a range of topics related to token engineering, and token design — the perfect place to unveil the Interlinked Protocol on stage in Berlin.

When the internet was created, the missing piece was an identity management layer. We seek to provide a base layer for connecting entities across different industries and systems, in order to unlock the potential of interoperation.Carsten Stöcker, Interlinked Protocol

This was one of the many highlights we have experienced in the first month and are excited for all that are to occur in the next one!

In case you didn’t make it to Berlin to catch up with the talks and workshops in person, you can check our Token Wirtschaft article here and a video that will take us back to those sunny days.

AI Society Dinner

On the eve of DMEXCO in Cologne on September 11, AI Society Dinner gathered selected leading AI experts, and business thinkers to discuss building a decentralised future. Hosted by Peter Lorenz, the small group of invitees were involved in deep discussions on how to build transformative technologies in terms of values and ethics. Carsten Stöcker, CEO Spherity, also added his insights on how digital twins will be a key enabler for a world in which safe and ethical AI agents act as a ubiquitous companion of human species.

TEDx Koenigsallee

Carsten Stöcker was invited by TEDx to give a talk on “Future of Identity” on September 14, in Düsseldorf. Bringing together leading thinkers from a wide spectrum of disciplines, it was a perfect place for speakers to present and discuss many controversial topics in their fields. Talks like “Future of Social Influence” by Ann Tran showed how our lives will be shaped in the next few years.

The aim of the event is to take a look at tomorrow’s innovations that have the power and potential to change our lives. In Carsten’s talk, the emphasis was on the future identities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The need for transactive identities in digital economies and societies was also highlighted.

Keep an eye out for his official recap, coming out later.

Ocean Protocol Advisor — Dr. Carsten Stöcker

“Carsten is a man bursting with ideas. As a leading expert on Industry 4.0 and the Machine Economy, Carsten always has a ready smile and a new idea to discuss.” — Bruce Pon, Founder of Ocean Protocol, BigchainDB

We are delighted to announce that Carsten Stöcker joined the Ocean Protocol Advisory Board. Ocean uses advanced blockchain technology allowing data to be shared and sold in a safe, secure and transparent manner. By pulling out the middleman and offering more transparency, this #ANewDataEconomy can provide users to seize back their ownership of their personal information. As the Interlinked Protocol team, we are looking forward to integrating our digital twinning solutions with Ocean for a more secure and decentralised world.

Rebooting Web of Trust

Hosted by Christopher Allen with the aim of creating decentralised identity systems, the Rebooting Web of Trust gathered experts for a two-day event in Toronto, Canada. Along with other leading minds, Michael Rüther and Carsten Stöcker joined the challenge of generating five technical whitepapers on topics that will have the greatest impact on the future. The participants already signed up with their topic paper were left free to work intensively on the whitepapers. Over this productive next two days, Carsten Stöcker teamed up with, Shaun Conway, Andrew Hughes, Moses Ma, Jack Poole, Martin Riedel and Samuel M. Smith to present “A DID for Everything” paper, which is a new type of globally unique identifier. While Michael Rüther joined Mike Brown, Darrell O’Donnell, Greg Slepak, Mikerah Quintyne-Collins, Heather Vescent and Christopher Allen to produce a whitepaper for a “Digital Credential Wallet.” The Wallet concept was considered to be the point where verifiable credentials can be collected, managed and exchanged with other entities.
