I’m fascinated by machine intelligence and the theory of knowledge, a blend of science, engineering, and philosophy. Some believe that AI is a problem to be solved in nature, but I view it as essentially an inventive pursuit. While many believe artificial general intelligence is inevitable, many of the most important questions of creativity and discovery have yet to be embraced. As David Deutsch remarked, “it is plausible that just a single idea stands between us and the breakthrough. But it will have to be one of the best ideas ever.”
