NewGenAngels Investors Dinner debuts in the KINGS
New Generation Angels (NGA) has partnered with Chanzo Capital to bring the highly acclaimed Investors Dinner to Kenya – leader of the KINGS (Kenya, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa). The inaugural event keynoted by Steven Grin, Managing Partner of Emergo Partners, New York and hosted by APRELLEDUANY, a leading African Luxury brand, focused on “Growth and Investment in Kenya”.
The exclusive event was attended by entrepreneurs, business partners, and financial institutions that have a keen focus on building the investment ecosystem in Kenya. The event was located at the plush Tribe Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya on Thursday, 19 May 2016.
According to Steven Grin, “we must face the challenge of creating 600 million jobs in Africa, where will those jobs come from without entrepreneurs”? Mr. Grin continued by challenging start-ups to identify their “blind spots as a businessperson” and the critical need to develop relationships with investors from a partnership not need perspective.
Aprelle Duany, Founder and Creative Director of APRELLEDUANY, was excited to observe the high participation of female entrepreneurs and investors in the discussion. “In the overall investment environment where women obtain 3% of investment capital, it is imperative that we engage more females in the investment ecosystem”.

Having these dinners in the KINGS countries will build the needed continental momentum to commensurate the international momentum we are also building in cities such as London where the AfA 2016 was first launched at the African Business Angel Forum in March. Next we are going to launch the event in Silicon Valley at President Obama’s 7th Global Entrepreneurship Summit from 23rd to 24th June 2016. These outreach activities are to engage the global investor community from these regions of the world to the AfA 2016.
