Ethereum Bridge to IOV — User Guide
We previously presented the bridge from IOV to Ethereum.
We are pleased to announce that the bridge has now been opened from Ethereum to IOV as well.
What can I do with IOV tokens?
If you are a WIOV token holder, you might consider sending them over the Bridge to IOV to:
- use IOV tokens to register and edit Starnames and you Starname Profile
- stake IOV tokens to the Starname blockchain and earn rewards (19+% APY at the time of writing)
What do I need to use the Bridge from Ethereum to IOV?
You need :
- your WIOV tokens available in your Metamask Chrome extension wallet and
- your star1 address where to receive your IOV tokens. If you don’t have a star1 address yet, please read this post.
How to send WIOV back to IOV ?
Open the Starname Manager on your Chrome desktop browser.
- If you have Ledger or Keplr installed, you can simply log in.
- Otherwise, choose the “View Only Mode” and insert your star1 address
Once you are logged in into the Starname Manager, pick the “Swap” tab on the left hand column.
At this stage, if you are not connected with your Metamask, you will see this:
Click on Connect to Metamask with you account holding the WIOV, it will open Metamask Chrome extension and you can accept the connection and you will see the screen of the Bridge:
You see that your star1 address is already in the Target address field.
If you wish to change this star1 address, you can edit it or input a starname.
Then you can input the Amount of WIOV tokens that you will send over the Bridge to IOV. There is a 5 WIOV bridge fee in this direction.
Click Send With Metamask, then confirm the transaction in Metamask, et voila!
You can check the Balances or Transactions history in the Starname Manager and you will see that the IOV tokens have arrived.
