This month we saw cheerful updates in the NFT/IBC field with the ICS-721 spec already merged and entered into the quick development stage.
While on the community side, to stimulate participation and further incentivize our community, we collaborated with StaFiHub in April to launch the rIRIS token liquidity staking solution for users, and it’s now live and open for testing! Besides, we’ve announced Citadel.one and Stakewolle as two new grant winners in the latest Rainbow Validator Intro Series. If you’re a validator interested in contributing to the IRISnet ecosystem while winning rewards at the same time, fill out the form!

The ICS-721 Spec Has Been Merged and Entered into the Development Phase
The ICS-721 spec for interchain NFT transfer has been merged and has entered into the quick development phase.
The $rIRIS Token Liquidity Staking Solution Went Live on Testnet
In April, we’ve announced the collaboration between StaFiHub and IRISnet to develop and launch the $rIRIS token liquid staking solution, which enables users to stake to earn incentives while benefiting from the liquidity of the $rIRIS token. It will also allows free transfer of $rIRIS among IBC chains.
On May 17, the $rIRIS testnet officially went online and open for testing!

⭐ Community Updates ⭐
The 14th Execution | Eco-development Funds Community Management Plan
In April 2021, the IRIS Foundation launched a new Ecosystem Development Program, which included the Eco-Development Funds Community Management Plan. The Foundation will undelegate about 300 million IRIS gradually, and then transfer these assets into the Community Pool in batches.
Now, there are more than 170,000,000 IRIS in the Community Pool. Through on-chain governance proposal submission, every community member can co-manage all assets in the pool for the purpose of enhancing the ecosystem.

The Rainbow Validator Introduction vol.5 is Out!
The Rainbow Validator Intro series are announcements of grant winners under the Validator Rewards Program. Launched in 2020 by IRIS Foundation, the Program aims to support and reward validators for their contributions to the IRISnet ecosystem, and encourage their participation and community outreach.

Events
- On May 20, IRISnet Philippines Community attended the offline 2022 Blockchain Expo event as one of the sponsors, and shared news and ideas with community members on site.
- On May 12, Community Ambassador NyanCat joined the AMA event in the Citadel.one Chinese community, and introduced its latest technology and ecosystem updates.
- On May 5, Community Ambassador Jeffrey attended the Twitter Spaces panel powered by Octopus Network on Multichain Ecosystem & IBC, and talked about the latest updates and trends in the Cosmos ecosystem.
