Gm ixonauts 🦋,

It’s a big week for the ixo community, announcing the Coinbase Giving grant has been a major highlight, the grant will be a major boost for the ixo Ecosystem. With the ability to support ecosystem projects commercially, technically, as well as financially, this should attract numerous ImpactDAOs to launch on the ixo Mainnet. This would be an exciting development as it would allow us to demonstrate the native functionalities and products of our blockchain through real-world use cases, creating network effects which could cement the ixo Mainnet as the true home of ImpactDAOs.

Chain

With the upgrade sorted, we focused on the ixo Interchain Identifier Registry Module (IID Registry Module) this sprint, which takes the ground-breaking work done on DID’s to the next level. This is testnet upgrade to Pandora-5.

This module implements the new specifications for Interchain Identifiers and DIDs which is a very significant area of standards work that has been led by the ixo team over the years. Interchain Identifiers are the foundation for Impact Claims, Verifiable Impact Credentials (Impact Certs) and next-generation NFT Impact Tokens.

Mobile App

The app is starting to look really great! There are still a number of features to complete before we can go into a full-blown Alpha version, but we are nearly there! We’re working on the Claims flow and the Assistant for this coming sprint. The onboarding flow and home page with menus are 95% done, with the last 5% of polish happening in a sprint or two from now, along with the rest of the app’s polish.

JAMBO

1/5th of the way there! The scaffolding is in place for anyone to easily create their own dApp, as well as the first part of the UI, “Set Style”, that interactively updates your dApp as you go along. Hakuna Matata, this is really cool! (For a full brief on this EarthPort Developer Portal, visit last week’s Sprint Update).

Web App

We wrestled with our WalletConnect implementation this sprint and did not make much progress, and we are still wrangling with the breaking changes introduced by the chain upgrade. Phew! It was a rough week!

This sprint is off to a good start, though, and we aim to have WalletConnect and Web3Auth in place by the end of sprint.

New!

Our live status page has been running for a few weeks for internal eyes only and now that the kinks are smoothed out, we can share it with everyone. This is our internal link, for now. We will let you know when the public one is up.

We’re also excited to introduce you to the ixo team member who looks after our infrastructure and is responsible for making sure the status page stays green, meet Daniel Milner!

Sysadmin and Network Engineering fundie

Daniel has been setting up servers before he could swing a bat. With specialisation in DevOps, Docker station is where he’s at while he has also taken on the beast that is k8s. Orchestration is a big part of his day-to-day life and he is always keeping a watch from the clouds. But when it comes down to work, he’s a bash-junky.

He spends his free time playing games and hiking.

Mostly at home on cli.

Oh, and by the way, he uses arch…

If you have any questions for the team, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us on Discord or Telegram! You can expect these updates to come across your screen on a weekly basis, so keep an eye out.

Let’s Buidl and create Impact!

Until next week!
