Sharing small stories of solidarity

TOGETHER is a global initiative that promotes respect, safety and dignity for everyone forced to flee their homes in search of a better life.
TOGETHER unites the organizations of the United Nations System, our 193 member countries, the private sector, civil society, academic institutions and individual citizens in a global partnership in support of diversity, non-discrimination and acceptance of refugees and migrants. The campaign was initiated during the 2016 UN Summit for Refugees and Migrants.
We are excited to announce the launch of our new Medium publication featuring “small stories of solidarity” showcasing the deep impact these actions in favor of refugees and migrants have in host communities.
These stories show that any effort made toward a more inclusive, non-discriminatory, respectful society does not go unnoticed. We also hope these stories inspire others to #jointogether with these initiatives, or to start their own if there are none among their communities. Most importantly, we hope to communicate that these small acts of solidarity have a huge impact (even if they don’t make the news) and that we wish to create a space to share them with others.
Everyone is invited to submit positive stories about refugees and migrants and to help us raise visibility of these stories. We can all help to turn the tides on the negative portrayal of those groups currently prevalent in the public discourse.
