Note from the editor

After a baby in Bulgaria learns to walk, they undergo a rite meant to forecast their future. Custom dictates that a white sheet be laid out on the ground and numerous items representing various professions placed onto it for divination. It is believed that a child’s future career is determined by the item they choose. I am told I have chosen the pen. Welcome to my page, where I — an aspiring author — post essays, fiction, and other works. Navigating through the page, you will see Letters I have written to myself and others, full of helpful tips on how to improve your writing. In Travelogues, I will share essays and anecdotes from my adventures around the world. To date, I have had the incredible fortune of visiting over twenty countries and I have called eight of them home. You can expect to see insights from both tourist’s and local’s POV. There is no better way to teach me writing than reading, and as an avid reader, I will be posting my thoughts on my reading as Book Reviews. Finally, you can find some of my rejected Short Stories and Poetry from literary contests, together with feedback from the judges if such was given. Keep reading, Julian Steele
