We interviewed Christoffer Persson. Swedish nomad traveling around the world. He also runs a contents platform for digital nomad life.(Svenska Nomader)
1: Which countries have you been in last 1 year? Can you tell me some interesting experiences there?
The last year my focus have been to build up a home base rather than do frequent travelling (which was the objective 2 years ago). I’m trying to base myself in south Europe to speak in broad terms and at the time I’m evaluating Lisbon, Portugal. Except some back and forth travelling to Sweden and some holiday and world cup in Russia I mostly been here the last year.
2: Can you tell me about your business?
It’s sort of divided into three. I’m remotely and part-time employed as a Digital Business Developer for a international gym chain based in Sweden. That sort of sets a base income every month. Except doing that I run two companies, one of them is a holding company that need my attention once in a while and the other is a company called Svenska Nomader (translated Swedish Nomads). More about the later one further down.
3: Where are the most beautiful places in digital nomad life? Tell me top 3.
From a digital nomad perspective I have to take good connectivity into account…
- Jeju Island, South Korea offers both good connectivity, lovely people and beautiful and calm scenery.
- Sevilla, Spain. One of my absolute favourite cities in the world. The only reason I’m not living there yet is because I want to make sure there’s not any better place.
- Tokyo, Japan. I was so astonished about how the world’s most populated city could offer such a variety and well organised environment. Many things to do, see and explore + Japanese food are lovely!
4: What are the most delicious foods in your travel? Tell me top 3.
- Sri lanka — Wherever I went in Sri Lanka the nation dish Rice and curry were splendid and variated from place to place.
- Japan — Everything is just top class quality. Had some of my best dishes here!
- South Korea — A food culture I was not blown away with at first but the more I explored it together with very engaged locals I started to love it. Still today I miss the kimchi.
5: Is there any advices or tips for other digital nomad to make remote work life better?
Try not to work to much and try to actually integrate with your surroundings. Otherwise you’ll feel isolated. I, for example, used team sports to get closer to locals and to get routines.
6: What are main 3 problems digital nomads have? (we hope we can solve it with our technology)
Loneliness — It can be lonely from time to time, especially after “breaking up” comfy social situations you built up in the place you were before. Make sure you have a plan to tackle that.
Connectivity — You have to experience and try yourself around to know how the Internet connection is. And being quite dependent on it for doing a good work that’s one of the most important problems to solve through your travel.
Ergonomy and controlling his/her workplace — When travelling around you never know about your next workplace. Pictures and reviews can help you in the right direction but you need to try it out yourself to make sure;
- The seats are comfy and ergonomical
- The volume is okay
- That there’s power outlets
- Enough seats (if you don’t have reserved one)
- good temperature

Me and my two colleagues Emelie and Yasmine are running a company called Svenska Nomader (Swedish Nomads) as mentioned above. It’s a community grown content platform around the future of work and the life as a Swedish digital nomad.
In contrast to many other digital nomad platforms the focus here are to tackle local challenges that comes with the lifestyle and to adapt the country, with authorities, companies and individuals for a new way of working… and living.
We do future of work communication and consultancy to companies and authorities as well as we’re trying to come up with and develop products and services to get more Swedes to have a sustainable work/life situation.
