We have already discussed in early blogs about autism that it is a neurological brain condition and awareness and acceptance is the key to autism.¹ The acceptance should begin from one’s home. Parents are like a child’s support system. They should observe their child carefully, especially in their golden years where the child is most impressionable because 75% of brain development takes place in this period. If there is something unusual in the behavior of the child, a parent should take the symptoms seriously. As early the parents identify and accept, the better it is for the child’s future. Early identification and intervention are very much essential. Indeed it is hard for the parents to digest and to cope up, but they are the ones who should accept first and help their child to grow through his overcoming.

The parents,

  • Should take early symptoms seriously so that the child is early identified.
  • Should learn about autism and try to know their child more, as each child is unique and has unique needs.
  • Reach out for support. Get proper help and early interventions.
  • Spend more time with your child and create a good connection so that he feels safe.

In this journey, there may be lots of challenges and hurdles. The first and foremost challenge is acceptance itself. Other challenges are the child’s education. Many parents face financial challenges for therapy and education. They also have to face the stereotypes given by society. It is difficult as a parent when it comes to interacting with the world. They have to make people understand why the child sometimes behaves in a certain way. For this awareness about autism in society is very important. When society is aware it can cooperate, then parents won’t have to go through many challenges when their child is interacting with society. A cooperative family and society are proven to be very helpful for the parents to cope up with the journey.

In the autism spectrum, the child is good at the tasks which people otherwise find difficult like arithmetic skills, fine eyesight for details or creative skills. But in contrast the activities generally people are comfortable doing may be tough for them. So parents have to help them in their daily chores right from dawn to dark, which is quite a challenge for working parents.

Kidaura supports the parents by screening the children’s so that they get the right assistance, which has a significant positive impact on the child. Early screening leads to early diagnosis and thereby early intervention which will help them to build a brighter tomorrow. Kidaura cares, provides support and early intervention so that children can make the best use of their potential²

Great lines said by a parent, “Caring for a child having difficulty in communication is hearing unspoken words, being my child’s voice understanding a special language, feeling a special bond, Seeing everything in a different light, Always understanding the silent things only love can hear. I am the voice of my sweet, precious special needs child.”
