Bright Eyes, Let It Go

Look away,
Look away.
Don’t go back.
Focus forward.
It’s old,
It should not be eaten again,
It stinks,
It is infested —
The serpents of self-loathing,
The bacteria of anger,
The fungus of folly,
The rodents of remorse,
The virus of vindictiveness.
Open your hands,
Turn away,
Fix your focus forward.

Bright eyes, let it go already.
