Time Poverty.

Ever heard of it?

I’m not sure I had. At least not in those words.

I’ve lived it, though. Still living it since I just had this revelation yesterday.

  • I don’t have enough time
  • there’s not enough time
  • time is running out
  • there’s never enough time

All these are ways of saying I don’t trust that God has given me what I need to accomplish what He has called me to. Ways of saying I’m afraid.

  • I’m afraid I won’t get it done
  • afraid I’ll run out of time

Now, I know time is short and limited — for me as a human. I also know I serve a God who is outside of time because He created it. I want to live in more faith in my God whose word always accomplishes what He sends it to do rather than my limitations of perspective, time, energy or any other resource.

He told me in my quiet time this morning, “Feel the urgency but do not partner with fear. Stay in faith. I will do what I said I will do.”

How do you think and speak about time?

I’m going to try to write a little each day as part of the process of renewing my mind to His way of thinking. Follow along in the series, Overcoming Lack of Time Mentality.
