The future of a smart city

Kwara Build Tech Community is a premier global association community for tech enthusiasts and developers in Kwara state, who are passionate about building and developing the tech ecosystem of Kwara state and the nation at large, believing in the unequaled power of events and human connections to educate youth about the power of technology towards ecosystem development and future foresight.

In recent times, smart technologies has been primary tools for becoming more efficient behind the scenes. Technology is being injected more directly into the lives of residents.A familiar example is our Smartphones; Smartphones have become the keys to the city, putting instant information about transit, traffic, health services, safety alerts, and community news into millions of hands

However, realizing smart-city strategies start with people, not technology. “Smartness” is not just about installing digital interfaces in traditional infrastructure or streamlining city operations. It is also about using technology and data purposefully to make better decisions and deliver a better quality of life.

A smart city is a city where urban planning is conceived with the ultimate goal of connecting everything to each other using state-of-the-art technologies. This connectivity, which creates a vast amount of data, is then used to improve city services and infrastructure as well as improving citizens environment and quality of life.

Because smart and sustainable city urban planning affects everyone, it’s crucial that we know and understand what the technologies involved in building smart cities are and how they can help achieve the ultimate goal of urban transformation into the truly smart cities of the future.

Kwarabuild 2018 was great with the support of potential firm that belief in our dream

We can’t meet our noble goal and objective without the support of potential firm who believe in the power of togetherness. Most of our community developers, youths, entrepreneur, educators, and innovators will learn a better way to discover, share, and build better solution to our economic challenges.

There is now extensive use of technology in various ways and Information communications technology (ICT) is not only one of the fastest growing industries — directly creating millions of jobs — but it is also an important enabler of innovation and development. The number of mobile subscriptions (6.8 billion) is approaching global population figures, with 40% of people in the world already online. In this new environment, the competitiveness of economies depends on their ability to leverage new technologies. Here are the six common economic effects of ICT.

  1. Direct job creation
  2. Drives Productivity
  3. Helps Build High-Growth Companies
  4. Creates New Sectors and Ways of Doing Business
  5. Emergence of new services and industries:
  6. Business innovation
There is energy in coming together. You achieve big dreams

Researchers and innovators have come together to describe lasting solutions to counter the inevitable limited resources caused by economic growth in urban areas.

A new framework has been put into place that allows for the creation of an urban environment to adapt to the needs of the population in the most environmentally, economically, and socially conscientious way; the Smart City.

KwaraBuild Tech conference 2.0 will dwell more on the Future of a Smart City.

We are hoping and relying on making the ideas behind this project to come to fruition. It is our belief that this would go a long way in furthering the good works of developing the tech ecosystem in Africa.
