Idea Foundry To Co-Accelerate Filipino Startups With Launchgarage
Launchgarage, the Philippines’ premiere accelerator has officially partnered with US-based Idea Foundry, Inc. to deliver a wider range of services for its expansion-ready startups through the latter’s Impact Globalizer Program that seeks to help Filipino companies gain insights into the US market and validate their product before launching through their network reach in the industry.
Idea Foundry is a non-profit, economic development organization based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. They offer individualized, business development and acceleration services and investment to startups in the Pittsburgh region. Additionally, they are working to partner with organizations across the globe to foster global collaboration and the transfer of innovation and talent. Their organization has three tiers of programs for foreign entrepreneurs, beginning with U.S. market validation through the Impact Globalizer Program and also including Virtual Acceleration and a Soft Landings Program. Since Idea Foundry’s founding in 2002, they have supported over 200 companies and projects that have generated over $1B in direct economic impact in Pittsburgh, making Idea Foundry a regional pioneer in practical development, technology transfer, and global projects.
After a successful year in 2018 being able to co-host various programs through its Global Accelerator Exchange medium, Launchgarage aims to further boost its startups’ operations all throughout the globe this year through capacity building, market validation and deal-flow facilitation initiatives with partners worldwide. Some of the programs held last year include: EXPAND Philippines, the South-South Media Lab Fellowship, Future City Summit City Design Jam and a host of other industry-focused, targeted programs for its founders.
Launchgarage is set to identify, evaluate and refer expansion-ready startups in its portfolio in the Philippines to participate in Idea Foundry’s various programs and initiatives while providing co-acceleration and virtual acceleration services to well-rounded companies through its various channels this 2019. The partnership serves as yet another pipeline and avenue for Filipinos to showcase and deliver their products and services to a global audience as part of the innovation ecosystem in Southeast Asia and beyond.
