Welcome back to LeagueDAO’s Field Report — the weekly newsletter capturing all the news and behind-the-scenes work going on here at LeagueDAO. We’ve been several weeks removed from our inaugural fantasy football season, The Genesis League, and our gears are focused on what’s next to come. This includes:

Non-Fungible Brackets
March Madness brackets were cool a few years ago but now it’s all about the Non-Fungible brackets. This March, LeagueDAO will launch Non-Fungible Brackets, our tokenized bracket competition held right on the blockchain.
It’s time for participants to lay it all on the line, or should I say on the chain — select your picks from the Round of 64 all the way to the National Championship game, and mint your own bracket as an NFT. Players will earn points throughout each round for their correct picks, and the leading scorer at the end of the tournament will earn the crown as the first LeagueDAO tokenized bracket king (or queen). Bragging rights and the top prize — who will win?
CryptoFantasy dApp
The CryptoFantasy dApp is now live! Players were able to mint their randomized NFL squads and earn points in the weekly competitions. Anyone could earn points based on how well or how poorly their team performed — a unique twist compared to typical competitions. Not only are these teams used for the current NFL season, but they can also be used in seasons to come. The team has been working hard on ensuring strong functionality and UI, as users can now go ahead and interact with the platform → https://app.leaguedao.com/cryptofantasy

NOMO Fantasy Basketball League
Nomo Basketball Player NFTs are coming soon. More details are available in our previous write-up, linked here:

Fantasy basketball players tokens will continue to earn rewards and points for this season and future seasons, as long as the player is still active. Those who’ve minted the NOMO fantasy football player NFTs will receive an airdrop of a free Basketball player token!
The North Star League
As we start 2022, it is vital that we take the time to clearly explain why we are building the protocols we are building and what the end goal might look like. Our core team, with the help of the community, has prepared an outline of what we have been calling the North Star Protocol.
The LeagueDAO North Star is a decentralized fantasy sports platform that encapsulates the full Web3 Fantasy gaming experience.
Our goal is to combine all of our key components that we have developed from our different protocols into a completely tokenized fantasy sports platform where we use NFTs and DeFi mechanisms to dramatically improve the overall fantasy sports experience.
There are 4 key components to the North Star Protocol: Players, Teams, Infrastructure and Liquidity.
As we continue to build out this end-product, LeagueDAO team-members are proud to continuously put in the work and effort to form a strong community and follow through the vision we’ve all created.
Dev Updates
A few quick updates on what the LeagueDAO team is currently working on:
- Conducting final testing of the Fantasy Basketball League
- We deployed the CryptoFantasy LeaderBoard app with end of season rankings
- Finalizing scope of CryptoFantasy V2 development, set to being this month
- Started the audit of Non-Fungible Brackets Smart Contracts
