As the year draws to a close, it is worth reflecting on the major milestones achieved over the past 12 months.
At Ledger Investing, we are dedicated to creating an open insurance system that connects insurance companies, MGAs, and investors. By providing funding for underwriting new policies and offering investors access to insurance-linked securities, we are driving the growth and success of a new, unique asset class characterized by low severity and high frequency embedded insurance risks. This year, we have made significant progress toward our goal of building a more open and efficient insurance market, and we are proud of the contributions made to the development of this nascent asset class.
As a company, one of our main priorities has been to build a strong and talented team. We are pleased to report that we have made significant progress in this area, bringing on board some of the most skilled and experienced professionals in the industry. Our team now includes experts in engineering, science, insurance, and capital markets, and we are confident in their ability to drive the success of our company. This year, we launched our live tracker, which sets a new standard for transparency in the industry. The tracker, which offers real-time data on the volume of premium securitized by Ledger Investing, has been pioneering the way for best practices in transparency.
A major highlight of the year was the announcement of our Series B financing round. We were thrilled to secure $75 million in funding led by WestCap, which will allow us to continue driving innovation and growth in the industry. This is a great achievement for our company, and we are excited to see the impact it will have on the future of insurance.
In addition, we are also proud to have made history by announcing our first-ever secondary transaction for Ledger securities. This marks a major step forward for our company, and we are excited to see where it takes us in the near future.
We were also honored to receive two major accolades this year: we were nominated as a Top Private Companies by Y Combinator, and we were recognized as a top insuretech startup by the InsurTech100. These honors are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, and we are grateful to be recognized by our peers.
Finally, we were also excited to announce the opening of our new office headquarters in New York City at 75 Rockefeller Plaza. This location will allow us to better serve our clients and partners on the east coast and will serve as a hub for our operations.
