Today marks the International Transgender Day of Visibility, an opportunity to celebrate transgender people as well as to raise awareness around the discrimination trans people still face.

#TransThriving theme

This year’s theme is ‘surviving and thriving’ and aims to acknowledge the major transgender achievements in the past year. Have a look to see more information about it by clicking here or by searching the #TransThriving hashtag on Twitter.

At the Centre, we’ve achieved some great things too!

We understand the trans community is facing many challenges including transphobia, invisibility or cissexism, among many others. The Leicester LGBT Centre is committed to supporting the transgender community and we are working and will continue to work in the future to empower trans people and get the recognition this community deserves.

Are you trans/gender questioning? At the Centre we run two different projects for trans people, the Young Transgender Centre of Excellence and the Adult Trans Project.
