Another busy month at the Leicester LGBT Centre! These are some of the things that we are doing this month:

#ShineBrightInColour Campaign — LGBT History Month

As part of our #ShineBrightInColour campaign, this month we are reflecting on the LGBT History Month theme. With online posters, interviews and our participation in many events we have lots going on. We have also lent our memorabilia to some of our key partners, just one of the ways we are raising awareness of the history of our community. Keep an eye out on social media to see our latest updates. The Centre also hosts a permanent exhibition on local LGBT+ history. If you would like to visit the exhibition for free, please send an email to info@leicesterlgbtcentre.org.

New LGBT+ project in Hinckley

Thanks to the partnership work of Leicestershire Police, St Mary’s Church in Hinckley, Hinkley Council and the Leicester LGBT Centre, the new project ‘Proud 2 B’ will provide free drop-in clubs for the LGBT+ community as well as any family members and friends from the age of 18 years old. The Chair of the Centre, Mathew Hulbert, who has been directly involved in the creation of this group said: “We’re really excited about this new weekly group; the first provision of its kind in the Borough, for several years.’’ Keep an eye on social media for more information!
