Eurotux Informátic SA together with ITMZ, and Dipcode constitute the Eurotux Group: specialists in the analysis, design, development and implementation of global IT solutions, which are characterized by security, reliability and transparency for the client.

Created in 2000, the company has a new office in Braga where it welcomes about 60 employees. Besides this space, Eurotux has offices in Bragança, Porto and Lisbon, through which it supports infrastructures in several continents. It is present in the Mozambique market with its subsidiary ITMZ, and involved in several international projects in the USA, Brazil, France, Egypt and the UK.

The office

The newly opened Eurotux office was designed with one goal in mind: to celebrate the organization’s culture!

This is a company that has as its priority the well-being of its employees and excellence at work. The spaces were designed together with the teams taking into account the specific needs of each function.

Divided into two floors, this office welcomes not only internal employees but also clients, suppliers, and external visitors who come to participate in events such as meetups, workshops and training.

The Teams

The group of employees using this space is divided between: administration, consulting, operations and support, commercial, accounting, management and development departments, and Dipcode — a web development company owned by the Eurotux Group.

The office materials and coverings were chosen according to the function of each space. While the work areas have been covered with carpet — a more comfortable solution with good acoustic performance — the social and circulation areas have a vinyl flooring — a resistant and easy to maintain material.

The spaces in the development departments have been decorated with blue tones, and those in the other departments with red tones. The teams are organized in rooms with work islands, a solution that enhances teamwork and facilitates communication. All the rooms have screens where information relevant to the projects is shared.

The walls have been covered with whitewall vinyl so that it is possible to make notes, schematics, and think the next move to each project.

Meeting Rooms

Eurotux’s working culture is proud to be agile and innovative. Meetings are part of everyday life, but are kept to a minimum.

In the office there are only five meeting rooms: two for groups of 8 to 12 people, two for groups of 4 people and a training room with capacity for 25 people.

All rooms have glass walls, presentation screens, power outlets to connect laptops and vinyl whitewall walls.

For quicker and more informal meetings with groups up to 6 people there are two booths with dedicated lighting.

Reception

The reception area welcomes all customers, suppliers and visitors arriving at Eurotux. The decorative panel, placed on the wall next to the waiting area, presents a brief description of the business areas, the technologies used and the values of the organisation. The tone of the decoration of this space is red, a Eurotux colour.

Social Areas

The kitchen, where Chico Caffe works, is the place where everyone meets for coffee, lunch or a snack break. Chico Caffe is open every day and serves small meals to the employees. Fruit, bread and coffee are always available.

The mural of the cup refers to Pinguim, the company’s mascot who is present at various points of the office.

The tones used in the cup and lounge space seek to bring nature into the office. In every corner we can find plants, wood details and warm autumn colours.

Employees’ birthdays are celebrated here. Everyone makes a point of joining in to sing “Happy Birthday” and eat a slice of cake!

The lounge is divided between the gaming area, the indoor garden and the library, known as Tuxteca. In the gaming area we find a large sofa where the video game championships take place.

For those looking for a more intimate and peaceful environment, an indoor garden with swings and sofas has been created. This space is ideal for reading a book, or taking a quick call.

Sustainability is one of the company’s major concerns. Part of Eurotux’s fleet consists of electric cars that are loaded into the office garage.

To make the home/office journey easier, employees have bicycles and electric scooters at their disposal. For now, this is a pilot project with 4 vehicles, but the idea is to increase this number and allow employees to leave their car at home.

Office Sounds

“This office was designed from our needs. When we first entered here, we felt that we had been listened to, every detail meets our suggestions. Whenever I can, I go to Tuxteca and choose a book to read in the garden or at home.”
Ana Carvalho

“The quality of our work is even better since we came to this space. Here we have all the conditions to deal with day-to-day problems, we can have meetings, lunch together… we have a relaxed environment that allows us to work better and with more focus.”
Orlando Pereira

“I really like the environment we live in here at Eurotux, it’s a family environment. The Tuxgirls, our women’s group that meets monthly to share experiences, is special to me. It’s good to work in a company that welcomes women so well and where there is no discrimination whatsoever.”
