Trust betrayal, image vanishing face by Monoreena
Digital Edit by Monoreena

“When a river of tears and a load of grief keep on flowing from a mountain of broken trust, feelings may relentlessly besiege the stronghold of our flesh. Only a timely adjustment with our mental compass can shore up confidence, resilience; and reliance. (“Taken for a ride”)”
Erik Pevernagie

That day the stars twinkled
bright,
The crescent moon gave enough
light for a clear view —

And I saw.
That nonchalance.

It cut through my throbs,
I thought it stopped
for a moment.

All those spoken words,
And those unspoken, I took
for assurances, staring at me
like a dead log,

Did they ever happen?
Or was I imagining it all along,
Was any of it even real…..

People don’t change,
They simply become who they are

So, I don’t blame you,
You need time to know
who will pass the test,
Maybe you were not up
for it —

Maybe, you never will be…..
Because that’s what you are!

So,I choose to walk away
from your world, where muck
sticks,
It always drizzles to make
the roads slippery,

I choose to walk towards
my world of truth, faith and
belief, where love resides
undaunted,

Where
The sun don’t cry,
Stars don’t sigh,
Butterflies flutter at will,
Fireflies give light to the
night,
I choose to walk away…….

A room heard a mirror crack.

Yes, Sahil, it is not easy to write on something so sensitive and hurtful as loss of trust/betrayal, when you have never really walked that path of pain. Thanks to fictions and some reading, which mostly save my days:

Write a poem to a person who broke your trust. What are the things you would like to tell them? Is there any life lesson you learned from that incident? Do share your feelings and emotions in poetic form.

So, here's tagging David Rudder Jenine Bsharah Baines Thief Yana Bostongirl Ravyne Hawke, writers/poets who I read and enjoy to put some meaning to my gibberish.

Thank you Sahil Patel and Lifeline , for these prompts seriously make you delve into your imaginative self.
