Hey guys!

Ever wondered how you can import a blog post that you have written on another platform into Medium? Here is a simple guide on how to get it done.

To do this, you need to have a medium account. Sounds silly?

To help with all our novice bloggers, let's start with the basic steps.

Step 1 — Creating a Medium Account

Go to the medium home page and click Get Started on the top right corner of the page to create a new account.

Next, choose the third-party services that you want to use

Once you select either of these. Here I selected Google to sign in.

Fill in your full name and click on Create account and you will be redirected to the Medium home page.

Now you are all set with your medium account 🎉 For more details on creating an account, click here.

Now let's move onto the second step.

Step 2 — Import your blog post to Medium

As you are now on your home page, click on your avatar on the top right corner and select the option Stories

Then in the stories page, you will find a button named Import a Story

Next, copy and paste the link to your blog post and click Import.

Now, the wizards of Medium will import all the content of your post into to fresh Medium story.

Next, Click on See your story to view and make changes to your post.

Now you can use all the editing magic and make changes to your post by changing the title, rearranging the images, etc.

Once you are done with edition, click on Publish on the top right corner of the page to publish it on your profile.

Congratulations 🎊 you have imported and published your blog post on Medium.

Now! don’t forget to send it to the LinkIT publication to get a huge audience for your posts.

Note: The exclusive privilege of writing for LinkIT is only granted for the undergraduates of the Faculty of IT, University of Moratuwa.
