INT. HANNAH’S ROOM IN ST. VINCENT DUNN HOSPITAL — NOON

Hannah, who appears to be waiting for something — half-excited, like Christmas, and half-anxious — sits upright in her hospital bed. She watches the door to her room intently, but her eyes occasionally slide down to check the phone half-hidden under the covers beside her pillow.

Someone knocks at the door, and a CURIOUS NURSE walks in. Hannah tries to hide her excitement. Maybe the nurse still seems to notice, but if she does, she does not mention it.

CURIOUS NURSE

Well this is strange. When I got in today,

I saw that the doctor canceled all your tests,

and it looks like you’re free to go. Your mom

is on her way right now to pick you up.

Hannah smiles, barely managing to hide her sly enjoyment.

HANNAH
(relishing it)

Can you tell my mom to hurry up?

CURIOUS NURSE

Uh…sure.

They’ll call her at the desk.

The nurse leaves Hannah’s room. When she shuts the door, Hannah picks up the phone. She taps the screen, perhaps to send someone a text.

After a moment, the phone beeps and buzzes. Hannah stares at the screen.

HANNAH
(surprised)

At the Treehouse…?
