You Asked, We Answered: MCP v2.0 Community Question Top Picks
Feedback Report Part III: What are the commonly asked questions from our community?
Our community has raised many great questions regarding privacy details and other possible use cases. Below are the most common questions that the community asked.
1. What is the purpose of authorizing my data to PhalaWorld?
👩💻 In general, service providers need to know you before they can provide customized services to you. PhalaWorld is no exception. It needs to gather information about you to provide the service you need, which in PhalaWorld’s case, is to generate a unique Spirit NFT based on your identity information with the data you authorize to them.
However, the way it accesses your data is completely different from Web2 service providers such as Facebook. During the authorization process, you are in full control of your data and maintain complete privacy and anonymity.
2. Will MCP store my information?
❌ MCP/Litentry will not store your identity data but only your identity metadata — your ID Graph, which will be generated and stored in a private computation environment (Litentry TEE) and deployed on the Litentry blockchain. We will fetch the request and data for you, but it’s the identity requester who will likely store the data authorized by you, so that it can complete services for you.
3. How can I use my linked accounts in MCP on other platforms?
🔮 Similar to the Spirit NFT you earned on PhalaWorld with your aggregated identity, you can expect to obtain other customized services with your identity in a way that is secure and private.
For example, once the aggregated identity becomes more robust like credit, you can leverage your identity for an airdrop — the more you have contributed to and participated in one project, the more you may receive for their airdrop.
4. What’s the benefit of using MCP as a login platform rather than email addresses and passwords?
🌟 The largest benefit is privacy and security, because your data is cryptographically protected, and service providers can only access your data when they have your authorization. No authorization, no access.
Email login, on the other hand, is a centralized identity management solution. Your data will be stored in a centralized server, which means if you log in with your Google account, the list of accounts you create on different websites such as Spotify and Reddit will be stored in Google. The company will keep track of your every login activity, thus making you the victim of targeted advertising.
5. What happens when connecting my Web3 and Web2 accounts on MCP?
🔐 When connecting your Web3 accounts and Web2 accounts, a unique and cryptographically protected ID graph will be generated. Your ID graph is a map of the accounts you own on different blockchains and platforms. It is decentralized, cryptographically proven, and independently verifiable by design.
