Stop Focusing on the Wrong Things

Why there’s so much unhappiness

On social media, we see so much evil every day that it seems like the world will end this tonight. It isn’t calming seeing all that’s happening in the world and how far gone we seem to be.

You can start to get unnecessarily anxious and depressed comparing what is happening and what the world was like before everything started. It’s scary, honestly. But should that be your focus?

What benefit will those things give you if your sole concentration is on them? People are dying from COVID. There are riots, oppression, and everything bad going on around the world. But haven’t all these been happening before now?

If you focus on the bad things happening, you’ll naturally spread the bad things with people, making everyone around you feel depressed and anxious, like you.

Is that what you want, though?

I’m a Christian, and all I see are signs of the end times. Yes, the world could end at any time. But that shouldn’t be your main focus. We’re on earth to live and make the life of the next person better.

Instead of getting worried, I’d rather focus on myself: my salvation, happiness(family and friends), and growth in all areas. If I focus on the wrong things, I’d start getting worried, which will steal my happiness. This wasn’t God’s plan.

This is where many people are today. They are focused on everything happening in the news. And you’ll wonder why they’re so sad and depressed.

Yes, it’s a sad world, but you have more control than you think.

Focus on you and shun the noise
