I have been a proud owner of the iPad for half a decade and have tried different models over the years; I am now using the 11-inch M1 iPad Pro.

I recently tried using my iPad Pro as my primary device when my Mac was in the shop, and I loved the few days I had to rely only on my iPad.

Since then, I have been using my iPad as often as possible, especially for tasks I usually do on my Mac.

Something about the iPad’s high refresh rate screen, the touch screen display, Apple Pencil support, and the smooth multitasking features has made it the best backup device for my Mac.

The new features launched recently with the iPadOS17 update could potentially even replace my Mac as my primary device, at least for a specific set of tasks.

In this post, I will share with you six new features added to the iPadOS 17 update that could make the iPad as good, if not better than my Mac, for specific tasks like writing, online meetings, managing documents, multitasking, etc.

Let’s dive right in!
