Revelation Seven
Join the team.
Don’t just stand there, make a contribution. It’s the universal supply and demand.

Every time I think about “join the team,” I’m flooded with memories of 4th graders standing around with hands stretched into the air saying pick me, pick me. Gym class kickball teams. I was never chosen anywhere close to first or second round, more like second to last.
My twin brother was usually one of the first selected. Ouch! That’s okay. I didn’t like gym or kickball back then anyway.
No matter how much “might” I put behind my chicken legs, the ball usually headed somewhere between first and second base. I was an easy out and everyone knew it.
My point, and one that even 10 year old’s recognize, no one wants you on the team if you don’t contribute.
The seventh revelation of that night back in June told me to join the team.
I clearly remember sitting with one of my mentors, a man who taught me a great deal, as he relayed a story about making a contribution. He was incredible at relaying his knowledge through stories.
This man had been a trader for 50 years. He taught me about stock options and using them as a trading tool to make an income. If it’s a financial instrument, he traded it sometime during his illustrious career.
He said, “When I’m teaching everything just goes right, but when I don’t teach, it doesn’t.” He was making a contribution and it made all the difference.
Sounds a lot like universal supply and demand.
Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life’s deepest joy: true fulfillment. ~Tony Robbins
I believe “join the team” means find your individual way of contributing to the whole. A “demand” that needs your “supply” and offer it unselfishly without haste.
A team is defined as two or more people working together to achieve a common goal. In other words, an alliance with shared vision, a united force in advancement.
Every team member brings a unique set of skills and when each makes his or her unique contribution, the force is powerful. It’s like compounding interest. When united, ability multiplies and the effect is exponential.
Yes, join the team. When you work with those vested in shared interests, offering your best and making a selfless contribution, you are fulfilling the universal supply and demand. The impact is astounding.
What’s next? A sneak peak at the next night revelation. The eighth statement I wrote that night said, “Careful not to relapse.”
