Further Breakdown of Pre Series A

This is Step 3 in an ongoing analysis of how startup funding round “series” names and total lifetime funding amount are becoming more and more disconnected. Read about the initial analysis here and you can find step 2 here.

That big chunk is hard to leave as it is, considering how far an early-stage startup can get on just a million bucks I thought I’d split this out a bit more to reflect what I’m seeing… you do friends and family, then an angel round, then a formal seed round (where you might announce all your funding at once) before the Series A.
