Hello there,

Happy New Year to you.

Hope your trial month of the year has been great so far. 2018 was a great year for us at Team CYST. In this newsletter, we will recap our top moments from last year, examine what the 4.6% increment in Mobile Money users in Sub Saharan Africa means for all of us and addressing your FAQs.

2018 was an exciting year for collaborations and interactions and we had an insightful time meeting with tech companies at the World AI show in Mauritius, collaborating with MEST for a discussion on fintechs, participating in Seamless West Africa, MOBEX Expo 2018 and DevCongress and being featured on in Forbes Africa Under 30 list among others.

In 2018, we saw an increase of users in the mobile money industry within Sub Saharan Africa. This was highlighted by last year’s GSMA’s Mobile Economic Report, which projected that by the year 2025, nearly 300 million people will come online, reinforcing the exponential growth in the mobile money industry. Mazzuma also saw a large growth in transaction volume over the past year, having quadrupled our transaction volume to millions of dollars every month! We are excited to see what 2019 has in store for us!

The most frequent questions we have been receiving have been in regards to our token listing and the release of our new app. Our team is currently working on the new app to effectively incorporate both the mobile money and MAZ token functionalities, in addition to partnering with the best suited online exchanges.
