This newsletter just went out to my contacts on LinkedIn. If we’re not connected there, let’s do that.

There are three things I wanted to tell you about. Here’s the quick summary:

  1. Meaning Conference is happening on 16 Nov. If you haven’t bought a ticket yet, you can use discount code NIXON for 20% off. Book today.
  2. My work around developing self-managing organisations has expanded from coaching and consulting into an online product, Maptio to keep things clear and accountable without traditional management hierarchy.
  3. My workshops on the nature of money and the human relationship to it are proving popular. Would you like to hold one for your colleagues, friends or community?

And here’s a bit more info:

Meaning conference

Our conference, Meaning happens in Brighton every November. It’s the annual gathering for people who believe business can and must be a force for positive change in our complex and volatile world. The ticket price goes up this Sunday so grab your ticket now.

The event brings together an international guest list of thinkers and do-ers from business, academia, the arts and activism. This year we’re excited to welcome guest director and host the brilliant author and futurist Mark Stevenson. He’s helped put together a brilliant line-up including the leadership teacher Margaret Wheatley who I’m really excited about hearing from, as well as the UK chief exec of Médecins Sans Frontières.

Personally I don’t enjoy just sitting and listening all day long so as well as the talks we have plenty of workshops, interactive sessions and opportunities to connect with others on the journey of making business fit for the 21st century. Plus there are loads of Meaning Fringe events happening on the days either side of the core conference.

The conference themes include:

  • Purpose-driven business
  • The future of work
  • Systems change
  • Economic sustainability
  • Organisation for uncertainty
  • Empathy & compassion in business

It’s happening on 16 November in Brighton. Use discount code NIXON for 20% off. Go straight to the ticket page here, or check out all of the details and full line-up here.

Maptio

Maptio is my new startup. It builds on the work I’ve been doing for over 15 years developing purposeful organisations without traditional management structure.

Many organisations are moving away from traditional management hierarchies because they want to create more autonomy and agility. Yet it can be hard to keep things accountable and aligned to a single vision.

Maptio makes everything clearer. It allows you to map and visualise who’s responsible for what, who’s helping who, and how the overall vision breaks down into the smaller ideas that contribute to it.

We’re currently testing Maptio with a small number of early customers. You can register for pre-release access or read more about what we’re building and who it’s for.

Maptio complements my continued work as an advisor to founders and leaders building progressive organisations. If you’re interested in getting my help you can book a call with me.

Money workshops

In my work with founders wishing to realise bold, creative ideas, the subject of money is inescapable. Yet most people have little understanding about what money really is and how to master their relationship with it. If you’re able to do this, you can get money flowing in and around your creative ideas to give them the best chance of success. And you can learn how to never worry about money again, regardless of how much you have.

I run workshops drawing on over 30 years research into the nature of money led by Peter Koenig. They’re extremely interactive. As well as learning the fascinating truth about how money works, we play games where real money changes hands; reflect on our individual ‘money life stories’; practice ‘identity yoga’ to master our stories and much more.

I work with partners to host these workshops. Perhaps you’re a business leader who wants to upgrade the relationship with money in your team, or you have a community of people who might be interested in the subject. Let’s have a call to discuss a collaboration.

OK, that’s it from me. I’d love to hear from you if there’s anything we should work on together.

With love
